Bring social sharing back to Google Reader
We recently rolled out our latest member of the Hojoki family: Google Reader. Reader is quite a phenomenon; Google tries to cut down functionality in favour of deeper G+ integration but everybody still seems to use it. Now all that’s left is starring articles, we decided to use this feature to integrate Reader into Hojoki.

All of your starred items will flow into your activity stream. It is very handy to search through them together with your delicious bookmarks. But the best thing is Google Reader in combination with Hojoki’s autoshares.
Oops, we just reimplemented social sharing in Google Reader
There was a huge discussion around a few months ago when Google dismissed sharing functionality in Reader. Now Hojoki brings it back. As you know, in Hojoki you can set up projects, invite folks and automatically let certain activities flow into this project’s feed. We call this autoshare, and this functionality is also available for Google Reader. So now I can decide to share interesting items from Google Reader with my team.
You have several sharing options, you can manually share a starred item:

You can autoshare starred items based on the feed:

You can autoshare based on certain tags. This also takes into account tags automatically provided by Google Reader. So if I enter “hojoki”, it will autoshare everything related to Hojoki without me having to tag it manually. All I have to do is star it in Reader:

And of course, you can autoshare all your starred items. This makes sense in settings where you work so closely with your team that they should know everything you do.
As always we’d love to hear your feedback! Leave it here or send us an email.
